FACULTY OF INTERNATIONAL JOURNALISM

Faculty of International Journalism of UzSWLU was established in 1999 under the name “International journalism”. Currently, the faculty offers bachelors in the fields of “International journalism”, “Information service and public relations”, “Linguistic support of intercultural communication”, “Political studies” and in Master’s degree “International journalism”, “Information service and public relations”, “Linguistic support of intercultural communication” are being prepared. Over the past years, the faculty has established a unique and important scientific school specializing in international journalism in our country. Professors such as N. Joraev, F. Mominov, Kh. Dostmuhamedov, F. Mominova, D. Teshaboeva, Ya. Mamatova, Vontay Soul (South Korea), S.Umirov, N.Kasimova, B.Alimov, K.Ismoilova, G.Alimova, N.Toshpol'latova, H.Saidov, D.Muitov, I.Dilmurodov, A.Karimov, A.Matyakubov, G.Alimova and other associate professors worked, and a systematic specialized scientific school was created within our field.

Among the professors and teachers of the faculty, there are journalists who have served in Uzbekistan, culture workers who have served in Uzbekistan, holders of the Order of “Dustlik (Friendship)”, winners of the Republican competition “The best teacher of the year” awarded with an honorary label of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education. There are also devotees of their field who were able to receive a referral to study abroad through the “El-yurt umidi” fund of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Our associate professors, such as N. Kasimova, K. Ismoilova, B. Alimov, have an international media trainer certificate.

In the next three years, 10 researchers defended their PhDs, 5 scientists defended their doctoral theses. Cooperation relations of the faculty with world universities are being revived. In particular, close cooperation has been established with the Suleyman Demirel University, which is one of the world's most powerful universities, the Faculty of Journalism of the National University of Kazakhstan named after Al-Farabi, Osh State University, Turkestan State University. Due to the establishment of very effective relations with the USA, the faculty received a grant of 20,000 USD for television and radio equipment. In the direction of international cooperation, international seminars and trainings were organized with the support of the Center for retraining journalists of Uzbekistan, the representative office of UNESCO in Uzbekistan, and the public fund for the support and development of the national mass media. Master classes were organized with the participation of international trainers.

In the next 3 years, more than 20 training manuals and textbooks were prepared for publication in the field of journalism. Prize winners of the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Alisher Navoi scholarship regularly emerge from among our students.

Among the students who have studied at our faculty, potential specialists like Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Rasul Kusherboev), Mehrinoz Abbasova - Chairman of the Council of Young Artists of the Republic, Begzod Mamadiev, Aydin Sadullaeva and Dilshod G'oziev - journalists of “Voice of America” radio, Mashhura Tokhtamirzaeva successfully defended her doctorate in Japan, Davron Azizov is the head of the information service of the Chinese company Hua Wey, Nargiza Abdukhalilova is a journalist of the online publication of the Republic of Korea, Indira Khudoyberdieva is the head of the information service of Uzbekistan Railways JSC, Amira Rashidova is the general director of “Sevimli” TV channel, Rustam Eshbekov is the executive director of MY 5 TV channel, Jamshid Umrzakov is the presenter of “Uzbekistan-24”, Anora Sodikova is a leading columnist of UzA-Uzbekistan national news agency, Nozima Toshpolatova - editor of “Uzbekistan-24” radio are the pride of our faculty and our university. 90% of faculty graduates already have their own jobs. Currently, the faculty has the following departments:
