History of the department: The English language theoretical aspects department 2 of UzDJTU was established in 2017 as the department "English language theoretical aspects department 2 " of the 3rd faculty of English language of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages. In 2017, the department "English language theoretical aspects department 2 " headed by M.S. Saidova, Ph.D., associate professor, was established. During 2017-2020, Ph.D. Assoc. M. Saidova had  acted as the head of the department. Since 2020, M. Itolmasov has been performing  as the head of the department.

The staff of the department:

The main goal of the department is to train mature specialists who meet the requirements of the time and conform to world standards within the framework of ensuring the priority tasks of the Law on Education and the National Personnel Training Program.

The main tasks of the department are:

conducting lectures, practical and other types of trainings at a high theoretical, scientific, methodological and professional level, as specified in the curricula prepared in accordance with the state educational standards of higher education;

supervision of students' independent work on graduation qualification works and master's theses;

fair assessment of students' knowledge based on the rating system;

creating conditions for connecting students' theoretical knowledge and skills with practice;

development of educational programs for the department's subjects and submission for approval in the prescribed manner, as well as discussion of educational programs prepared by related departments;

preparation of textbooks, teaching, methodological and demonstration manuals and discussion of other textbooks, teaching manuals and teaching-methodical literature to be published;

participation in the preparation of necessary educational and methodical literature on the orders of non-state educational institutions;

working with talented students, preparing them for science olympiads, various competitions, conducting scientific research and improving the forms and methods of independent education;

creation of conditions for the professors-teachers of the department to carry out research work;

discussion of the completed scientific research works and recommendations for the next stages;

ensuring the integration of education, science and production;

to review and improve the personal plans of the department's professors-teachers for educational, teaching-methodical, scientific-research, spiritual-educational and organizational work;

Studying, summarizing and disseminating work experiences of professors and teachers, mastering new pedagogical and information technologies and applying them to the teaching process.

Scientific direction of the department:

The planned scientific-research works at the Department of English language theoretical aspects department 2  are carried out in the following priority directions:

1. Theoretical issues of modern linguistic research.

2. Issues of formation of intercultural dialogue in teaching foreign languages

Achievements of the department:

Every year, the department holds a scientific-practical conference of professors, teachers and students on the topic of current issues of modern linguistic research. The materials of the conference will be published in the collections "Current Issues of Modern Linguistic Research", "Issues of Formation of Intercultural Communication in Teaching Foreign Languages". Also, professors and teachers publish theses, scientific articles, brochures, textbooks and training manuals. The department has established cooperation with Nizhny Novgorod University of Russia
