RESEARCH WORKS
Head of Department Usmonova Shahodat Abdurahimovna defended her dissertation on the topic “Tendencies of Newspaper Language in Media Discourse (on the examples of Uzbek and English languages)” in the specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature, Comparative Linguistics, and Translation Studies and holds a PhD degree and the academic title of Associate Professor.
Rasulova Nilufar Abduvossiyevna defended her dissertation on the topic “Comparative-typological study of obstetric-gynecological and urological medical terms in English and Uzbek” in the specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature, Comparative Linguistics, and Translation Studies and holds a PhD degree.
Avezova Nigora Safarovna defended her dissertation on the topic “Typology of lexemes expressing human body movements in Uzbek and English” in the specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature, Comparative Linguistics, and Translation Studies and holds a PhD degree (PhD).
Senior Lecturer Saidov Ravshan Tursunovich is conducting research on the topic “Improving students’ reading competence based on English literary texts”.
Senior Lecturer Boysariyeva Fotima Tursunaliyevna is conducting research on the topic “Linguo-cultural approach in teaching foreign languages as a second foreign language (on the example of English)”.
Senior Lecturer Atanazarova Shohida Bahramovna is conducting research on the topic “Perlocution and illocution in advertising texts (on the example of English and Uzbek)”.
Lecturer Khamidova Durdona Mukhtorovna is conducting research on the topic “Lexical typology and lexicographic interpretation of economic terms in English and Uzbek”.
Senior Lecturer Anarbayev Orzubek Rakhmanovich is conducting research on the topic “Specific features of translation of compound words from English into Uzbek (based on newspaper corpus materials)”.
Qosimova Shohida Shokir qizi is conducting research on the topic “Linguosociological study of semantic fields of greetings and farewells (on the example of Uzbek and English)”.
Published Scientific Articles and Theses
In the autumn semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, over 30 articles and more than 100 theses were published in international scientific journals.
Spiritual and educational activities
To increase respect for national values and preserve traditions, various spiritual and educational events have been organized by the faculty of the Department of Practical Aspects of the English Language throughout the 2024–2025 academic year.
On November 4, 2024, an essay contest titled “The role of language in shaping language identity” was held among 2nd-year students. Over 50 students participated, and the winners were awarded certificates and souvenirs.
On November 22, 2024, a knowledge and creativity competition was held under the theme “Our Flag is Our Pride and Honor.”
On October 11, 2024, a training event titled “Overcome Your Fear” was conducted in Dormitory No. 5 by the faculty. During the event, logical games and Q&A sessions were held to boost students’ critical thinking and positive energy.
Achievements of 2nd-year students:
Student of the Group 2109 Khaldurdiyeva Oguljeren, the recipient of the rector's scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year, took part in the republican stage of the “Yosh Kitobxon” competition in the 15-19 age category and took 1st place, scoring 340.3 points. She was solemnly presented with a gift from the president - an electric car BYD Chazor.
Second-year student, Izzatullaeva Farangiz, won a grant from the UGRAD Global Exchange Program and received the right to study in the United States.
