Staff composition:

The department employs 25 full-time professors and lecturers, including: 3 Doctors of Science, Professors; 2 Doctors of Science, Associate Professors; 6 Candidates of Science, Associate Professors; 2 PhDs, Associate Professors; 2 PhDs, Senior Lecturers; 1 Senior Lecturer; 7 Lecturers; and 2 Assistant Lecturers. The department’s scientific potential makes up 62%.

Professors and lecturers of the department, both past and present, have played a significant role not only within the university but also in the socio-economic and spiritual development of the country. Among them are former members of the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan (O.Musurmanova, H.Ibragimov, O.Jamoldinova), officials of the Cabinet of Ministers (O.Musurmanova, T.Norbaeva), representatives of local government bodies (F.Abdurahimova, A.Jumaev), ministers (G.B.Shoumarov), university rectors (H.Ibragimov, G.B.Shoumarov, R.Qodirov), vice-rectors (S.H.Fayzulina, N.Ortiqov, D.Djurayev, O.Jamoldinova, N.Mamadov), senior officials of ministries and state agencies (T.Norbaeva, O.Musurmanova, I.Haydarov, O.Jamoldinova, F.Babashev), heads of departments and divisions (S.Yoldosheva, M.Jumaniyozova, A.Shamshetova, Sh.Halilova, B.Umarov, D.Ro‘ziyeva, M.Abdujabbarova, S.Atahanova, I.Haydarov, etc.), who have contributed and continue to contribute to strengthening Uzbekistan’s position on the international stage.

The department’s professors and lecturers also play an active role in raising and educating the younger generation as well-rounded individuals, applying their pedagogical and psychological knowledge, skills, and competencies in practice through community-based activities.

Research Activities

The department’s professors and lecturers conduct scientific research within the “Mentor–Student” system, involving young scholars. Research topics include: “Development of Humanistic Ideas in the History of Uzbek Pedagogy (late 19th – early 20th century)”, “Developing Students’ Culture of Professional Pedagogical Communication”, “The Influence of Teachers’ Psychological States on the Dynamics of Professional Development”, “Mechanisms for Improving the Professional Reflection of Future English Language Teachers during Pedagogical Practice.”

In the 2024-2025 academic year, Associate Professor J.Aliev from the Department of Psychology at Azerbaijan University of Languages carried out pedagogical activities at the department (April 2025). In 2024 M.T. Jumaniyozova defended a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences (DSc) dissertation, and Senior Lecturer M.A.Miliyeva earned a PhD in Psychology. In 2025 D.T.Polvonova also received a PhD in Psychology, and М.М.Murtozayeva was awarded the academic title of Professor.

Winner of the “El-Yurt Umidi” Foundation program, Yoldasheva Shakhodat Khamid qizi, is currently working as a Lecturer at the department in the 2024–2025 academic year. She holds a C1-level English certificate, while Miliyeva Muattar Gafforovna holds a B2-level Turkish certificate.

Completed research projects include:

State Scientific-Technical Program (2022–2023), project IL 21091378: “Formation of a Psychological Diagnostic System for Professional Selection of University Professors”;

State Scientific-Technical Program (2021–2022), project AL-412104512: “Creation of a Multilingual Electronic Dictionary for Geographical Objects of Uzbekistan”;

In cooperation with Belarusian State University, preparation of the fundamental project “Value Orientations and Motivation of Uzbek and Belarusian Student Youth at the Current Stage of Social Development: A Cross-Cultural Psychological Study”;

On February 11, 2025, the international research team was approved for the project “Human Rights in Action: Championing Change with Youth and CSOs”, financed by DVV International (Association of German People’s Universities).

Educational Activities

Professors and lecturers of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology deliver courses for Uzbek and Russian groups in all university majors, including:

General Psychology (for 1st-year students);

General Psychology (for 2nd-year students);

General Pedagogy (for 3rd-year students);

General Pedagogy (for 2nd-year students);

Inclusive Education. Hospital Pedagogy (for 2nd-year students).

Spiritual and Educational Activities

The department regularly organizes events in student dormitories on topics such as: “For a New Life, for a New Uzbekistan!”, “The Constitution – the Guarantee of Our Happiness”, “My Profession – My Pride”, “Effective Ways of Preventing Negative Influences on the Moral-Spiritual State of Youth – Offenses, Drug Addiction, Immorality”, “Spiritual Threats in the Internet Space and Methods of Combating Them”. These activities aim to shape a healthy worldview among youth and strengthen their ideological immunity against information threats.
