Republican Scientific and Practical Conference on the Development of Civil Society Held at UzSWLU
On October 16, the Department of Political Sciences of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University organized a republican scientific and practical conference on the topic “Modern Trends in the Development of Civil Society in Uzbekistan.”
The conference was opened by the Rector of the University, Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, who in his speech spoke about the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country to build a free and strong civil society and emphasized the importance of academic research and initiatives in this area.
The event was attended by representatives of various non-governmental non-profit organizations, scholars, experts, and members of parliament. Participants shared their views and proposals on the current state of civil society, existing challenges, and prospects for further development.
The conference operated in the following four thematic sections:

“Key Criteria for Building a Strong Civil Society: Socio-Political Analysis”;

“Topical Issues of Enhancing Civic and Public Engagement in the Development of Civil Society: International Experience and Prospects”;

“Socio-Economic and Legal Foundations for the Formation of a Strong Civil Society in Uzbekistan: Problems and Solutions”;

“The Role of the Third Sector in Social Modernization, Multiparty System, and Social Partnership.”
The conference aimed to contribute to the sustainable development of civil society in Uzbekistan by improving the activities of civil institutions, studying international experience, and introducing advanced approaches in the field.
