On September 17, 2025, a regular scientific seminar discussion was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

During the seminar, two dissertations were presented:

• Umida Uralovna Mahmudova defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philological Sciences (DSc) on the topic: "Linguocultural Study of Modern Media Texts in the Discourse of Digital Technologies (based on English and Uzbek languages)."

• Also, the dissertation by Oybek Amonovich Qulmamatov for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology on the topic: "Linguocultural Study of Oral Speech Genres (based on English jokes and Uzbek askiya)" was discussed.

Seminar participants expressed well-founded opinions on the dissertations. The researchers provided substantiated answers to the questions raised.
