On September 20, the official start of the “Five Initiatives Olympiad” sports competitions, covering students of higher and vocational education institutions, was given at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

The event was attended by the President’s Representative for Sports Odil Abdurahmonov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, the leadership of the National Olympic Committee, the Youth Affairs Agency, the Mahalla Association, the National Paralympic Committee, as well as rectors of all universities in Tashkent.

The ceremony was held at the TUIT sports hall, with representatives of higher education institutions from 13 regions of the country joining online via the ZOOM platform.

In his opening speech, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov emphasized that the competitions were initiated by the President and, for three consecutive years, have played an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle among youth and developing mass sports.

Rector of UzSWLU Honored with Prestigious Award:

Within the framework of the event, the Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Ilhomjon Madaminovich Tuxtasinov, was awarded the honorary badge “Excellence in Physical Education and Sports,” established by the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This high recognition was granted for his significant contribution to the development of physical education and sports in the education system, as well as for fostering a healthy lifestyle among young people.

For the UzSWLU community, this award is a source of great pride and an indication that the initiatives of the university leadership aimed at promoting sports and raising a healthy generation are being highly appreciated.
