On October 3, 2023, there was a meeting with the Rector of Mersin University of Turkey Dr. Erol Yashar and Rector's advisor Mr. Yashnar Baikal. Rector of ther University prof. Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov gave an information about the university and proposals on the exchange of professors and students, inviting qualified native speakers of Turkish language to Uzbekistan, cooperation in projects within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, as well as development of cooperation in other areas of mutual interest

Currently, 47 000 students, including 3000 foreigners study in Mersin University, which is among the TOP 1000 Universities in the international ranking. The number of professors is more than 3 000. This university has 19 faculties, of which 9 works on higher education and 10 in the vocational education system. In addition, 5 separate institutes operate in Mersin University.

At the end of the meeting, the rectors signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation in the fields of education and science and agreed to establish effective cooperation in the future.
