UzSWLU Delegation Visits Italy

On May 15–16, a delegation from Uzbekistan State World Languages University—including Dean of the Faculty of Translation U.R. Yuldoshev, Head of the Department of Italian Translation Theory and Practice B. Ergasheva, Head of the Department of Arabic Translation Theory and Practice K.S. Qodirova, and Head of the Department of Natural Sciences H.S. Khushvaqtov—visited IULM University in Milan, Italy. During the visit, they became acquainted with the university's academic processes and participated in official meetings.

The delegation was welcomed by A. Parravichini, Head of the International Office at IULM University, and J. Rocca, Dean of the Faculty of Translation.

As part of the visit, the delegation members gave an engaging presentation about Uzbekistan and the university to Italian students. In addition, each representative conducted a seminar related to their respective scientific research.

Master’s students specializing in simultaneous interpretation at IULM shared interesting insights about their institution. Classes on consecutive and simultaneous interpreting were also observed and analyzed.

The visit concluded with the following agreements:

• Two master's students from IULM will teach at UzSWLU for one semester during the 2025–2026 academic year;

• Joint participation in Erasmus projects;

• Online seminars for students learning Arabic at UzSWLU;

• Organization of professional development courses for instructors from the Departments of English Translation Theory and Practical English Translation.

The visit was rich in meaningful discussions and fruitful outcomes.
