Student Scientific-Practical Conference on “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Language Learning” Held at UzSWLU

On May 29, a student scientific-practical conference on the topic “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Language Learning” was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University at the initiative of the Department of Integrated English Course–3.

The event brought together university leadership, international partners, department faculty, talented students, and representatives from other faculties.

 

 

The conference was opened with an introductory speech by Otabek Yusupov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation. Polatjon Khabitovich Omonov, Head of the Integrated English Course–3 Department, spoke about the goals and significance of the conference.

 

 

Following the plenary session, the conference continued in three breakout sections:

  1. Modern Programs and Applications in Foreign Language Learning

  2. Online Tools in Language Learning and Their Advantages

  3. Digital Technologies Facilitating Intercultural Communication

Students delivered scientific and analytical presentations on the benefits, challenges, and prospects of using AI technologies in language learning. Participants held in-depth discussions on the role, capabilities, and effectiveness of digital tools such as ChatGPT, Duolingo, Grammarly, and Google Translate.

 

 

At the conclusion of the conference, students who actively participated and delivered the best presentations were awarded honorary diplomas and certificates by the organizing committee.
