Dissertation Defense for the Degree of Doctor of Philological Sciences (DSc) Held at UzSWLU (as part of the “Relevant 90 Days” initiative)

 

On June 25, a meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, dedicated to the defense of a dissertation for the academic degree of Doctor of Philological Sciences (DSc). The session was organized in hybrid format — both offline and via ZOOM.

 

The event was attended by Rector Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, members of the Scientific Council, official opponents, and field experts.

 

Yuliya Umidovna Matenova defended her dissertation in the specialty 10.00.04 – Languages and Literature of the Peoples of Europe, America, and Australia, titled:
“The Work of É.-É. Schmitt in Contemporary French Literature: The Problem of Intercultural Interconnectedness.”

The dissertation analyzes intercultural communication, spiritual and philosophical inquiries, and the artistic reflection of social and ethical issues in contemporary French literature. The official opponents gave high marks to the relevance, methodological approach, and theoretical-practical significance of the work.

 

At the end of the session, the Scientific Council members made the appropriate decision.
