On 21 December 2023, the rector of UzSWLU I.Tuxtasinov hosted Zhou Jing Lei, Secretary (1st rector) of the party committee of Liadong University, China, HuTong, director of the international exchange programs and cooperation department, and Dong Ran, director of the international exchange programs and cooperation department.

For information: the University of Liadong, founded in 1912, is the 5th largest among the 32 high schools in the province of Liaoning. 20,000 students study at this university. The number of professors is 160. It has 58 faculties and 16 institutes and trains qualified personnel in Chinese Studies, foreign languages, medicine, economics, management, tourism, agriculture and other fields.

The university has cooperation with countries such as Japan, Korea, Russia, Mongolia. The Ministry of education of the PRC provides special funds for the development of cooperation with the countries of Central Asia in the fields of education and science.

It has been implementing joint educational programs with Russian and Korean universities. Currently, 22 students of UzSWLU are studying at this university on a grant basis.

Proposals were made to the Chinese side to teach Chinese to the language Masters and exchange experiences with local teachers, to organize training and internship programs for university professors, to provide grants for our students, to organize international conferences and seminars together, and to organize winter and summer language and culture programs for students of the University of Liadong.

Zhou Jing Lei informed in his speech that he is ready to provide all-round support for the proposals expressed by UzSWLU. In particular, the Ministry of education of the PRC noted that the Center for language education and cooperation has allocated funds for 30 students of the OSCE to participate in a 2-week winter school program scheduled for February-April. At the same time, at the Faculty of Oriental philology, he mentioned that the organization of the “Center for Chinese language” and “Smart Classes”, the establishment of the “HSK test center” under the Center, the delivery of educational literature, manuals and other materials on Chinese language and Chinese studies, the implementation of the Chinese studies project in UzSWLU with the support of the center In particular, he stressed that with his return to China he will send textbooks and teaching aids.

Rector I.Tukhtasinov proposed to open the “Uzbek language center” at Liadong university as part of the “Uzbekistan higher education institutions educational exhibition”in Beijing in January 2024. It also stated that it is ready to consider the issue of establishing a joint educational program from the next school year.

Vice-rector for international cooperation A.Nasirov expressed his views on sending Liadong university students to UzSWLU for internships in 17 languages taught at our university, including Russian, English and other languages, participation in short-term programs, sending professors and teachers with scientific degrees and titles to our university, publishing articles in scientific journals of both universities.

Both sides stated that they are ready to carry out effective cooperation in the future.
