New Cooperation Agreements Signed Between the Uzbek State University of World Languages and UK Higher Education Institutions
As part of the ongoing Uzbekistan–UK Education Forum in London, a series of meetings and negotiations were held with several British higher education institutions. These discussions resulted in new agreements between the Uzbek State University of World Languages and international partners.
Among them, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Institute for Foreign Language Teaching, as well as a contract with the University of Cambridge to launch CELTA-based professional development courses for the university’s faculty members. Additionally, an agreement was signed with the University of Portsmouth to organize training courses for English language teachers.
These agreements aim to enhance the quality of education by incorporating modern curricula and studying the UK’s best practices, while also boosting the professional capacity of the university’s teaching staff.
Within the forum, Otabek Yusupov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, also met with representatives of the University of Leeds to discuss prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. Representatives of this prestigious university, ranked 201–300 in the QS World University Ranking in Linguistics, expressed their readiness to collaborate in language education and the implementation of joint scientific-practical projects.
