Representatives of Turkey’s Gelisim University at UzSWLU

On May 6, representatives of Istanbul Gelisim University (Turkey) paid an official visit to Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU). During the visit, prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The delegation from Gelisim University included Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for International Cooperation Mr. Bulent Deyirmanci, Professor of Political Science and Public Administration Prof. Shenol Durgun, and University Coordinator and Translator Mr. Hasan Umarov. From the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, the participants were Rector Ilhomjon Tuhtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Kh. Yuldoshev, Head of the Second Foreign Languages Department A. Yuldoshev, and Turkish language teacher and translator Z. Komilova.

During the meeting, the following key areas were discussed:

• Student, teacher, and researcher exchange programs and cooperation in scientific research;

• Organization of professional development courses for foreign language teachers;

• Involvement of Turkish language teachers at UzSWLU;

• Development and implementation of the Erasmus+ program and other international projects;

• Other mutually interesting areas of cooperation.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of the prospects for bilateral cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

As part of the visit, the guests also familiarized themselves with the university's infrastructure.
