UzSWLU – Contributing to the quality development of Chinese language education

On June 2, during the second day of the Uzbekistan–China Forum on “Innovative Cooperation in Education, Science, and Technology” held in the historic city of Samarkand, a session was held on the topic “Quality Development in International Chinese Language Teaching.”

 

 

The session was attended by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Otabek Mahkamov, heads of the education departments of Shaanxi and Qinghai provinces, as well as representatives of more than 20 leading universities, research centers, and educational policy-making organizations from Uzbekistan and China.

Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, delivered a speech titled “Prospects for Teaching Chinese in Uzbekistan: The Example of UzSWLU.” In his remarks, he provided information about the university’s implementation of modern teaching approaches, advanced experiences in teaching Chinese, ongoing international cooperation projects, and future plans.

During the session, UzSWLU proposed a number of initiatives focused on improving the quality of Chinese language instruction, training modern Sinologists, promoting intercultural dialogue, and deepening scientific collaboration. Specific plans were outlined in these areas.

Professor Ilkhomjon Madaminovich Tukhtasinov emphasized:

“Today, our main task is to ensure high-quality teaching of foreign languages. Cooperation with China—especially initiatives in teaching the Chinese language and culture—is one of our strategic priorities. We are firmly committed to achieving practical results in this direction.”

 

 

As part of the session, new agreements were signed, further strengthening the collaboration between UzSWLU and its Chinese partners. The university continues to assert itself as a leading platform for promoting innovative and multilingual approaches in the international educational arena.
