Farewell Meeting Held with KOICA Volunteer at UzSWLU

On July 8, 2025, a farewell meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) with KOICA volunteer teacher Mr. Kim Youngbae.

 

 

The event was attended by UzSWLU Rector I. Tuxtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of the International Relations Department Kh. Yuldashev, Dean of the Faculty of Eastern Philology D. Djurayev, and Head of the Korean Philology Department I. Abidieva.

During the meeting, the outcomes of Mr. Kim Youngbae’s service from February 2024 to June 2025 were reviewed, including his suggestions for improving Korean language teaching and strengthening cooperation with universities in the Republic of Korea. Other topics of mutual interest were also discussed.

 

 

Background: Kim Youngbae was born on January 31, 1955, in the Republic of Korea. In 2022, he completed a master’s degree in Korean Language at Chinju National University of Education. As a KOICA volunteer, he taught Korean at the Department of Korean Philology within the Faculty of Eastern Philology at UzSWLU, conducted training seminars for local teachers, and organized additional cultural and country studies sessions for students.

At the conclusion of the event, faculty members praised Mr. Kim Youngbae’s contributions, and students’ positive feedback about his teaching was especially highlighted. The Rector expressed gratitude and presented him with a certificate of appreciation.
