International Forum on Uzbekistan–China Innovative Cooperation Held in Samarkand
On June 1–2, 2025, the city of Samarkand is hosting an international forum titled “Innovative Cooperation in Education, Science, and Technology.” This prestigious event is organized within the framework of the Second Uzbekistan–China Interregional Forum and aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and elevate it to a new level.
The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, and the Governor of China's Shaanxi Province, Zhao Gan. The event also sees broad participation from government organizations, leading higher education institutions, research centers, technoparks, and private sector representatives from both Uzbekistan and China.
The delegation from Uzbekistan State World Languages University is actively participating in the forum. The delegation includes the university's rector, Professor Ilhomjon Tukhtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Relations A.A. Nosirov, and representatives from the department responsible for international rankings. They are actively engaged in meetings and negotiations aimed at expanding international cooperation in education and scientific innovation.
As part of the forum's program, exhibitions titled “Study in Uzbekistan” and “Study in China” have been organized, showcasing the educational systems, scientific potential, and opportunities available for international students in both countries. Additionally, bilateral meetings and practical negotiations have been held, resulting in the signing of several documents aimed at strengthening cooperative ties.
Notably, an inter-university cooperation agreement was signed between Uzbekistan State World Languages University and one of China's prestigious higher education institutions, Xi'an International Studies University. This document encompasses areas such as support for joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, organization of joint conferences, short-term academic programs, professional development courses, establishment of joint laboratories, and deepening the integration of education, science, and industry.
