Translation Faculty

In accordance with the Decree of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimov No. 401 of May 12, 1992, the Uzbek State University of World Languages was established, and with the expansion of international relations in various fields of the national economy and the increased demand for qualified translators, in accordance with the order of the Uzbek State University of World Languages No. 93 of October 24, 1994, talented Students from all faculties of the university were selected to study in the field of translation on the basis of an interview, and the Faculty of TRANSLATION was established.

Since the 1994-1995 academic year, the head of the Department of "Junior Courses of English", Candidate of Philological Sciences, associate professor O.M.Muminov became dean at the Translation Faculty, and a teacher of the same department, Zh.A.Ruzmetov, was appointed deputy dean. In subsequent years, the heads of the faculty were highly qualified specialists, such as Candidates of Philological Sciences N.M.Kambarov (2002-2009), T.A.Madrakhimova (2009), H.I.Khakimov (2009-2012), I.M.Tukhtasinov (2012-2013), S.A.Ziyaeva (2013-2019) and O.P. Khabitovich (2019-2021). Currently, Candidate of Philological Sciences Karimov Rivojiddin Gulamdjanovich, is working in this position.

The most experienced teachers of the industry are involved in teaching simultaneous translation. To teach the discipline of simultaneous translation, there are classrooms equipped with special foreign techniques.

Within the framework of the project on the development of interpretation in Uzbekistan by the South Korean University of Foreign Languages Hankuk in September 2014, Korean specialists equipped 2 classrooms for teaching simultaneous translation, designed for 40 students.

Educational activities

At the faculty, 1953 full-time students and more than 130 evening students are taught by professors-teachers who are highly qualified specialists in their field, 150 students,. Of these, 2 Doctors of Sciences (DSс) are professors, and 20 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) are experienced mentors with an associate professor degree. There are 2 Arab and 2 Italian professors-teachers at the faculty.   The faculty teaches 4 European languages (English, French, German) and 1 Oriental language (Arabic) in bachelor's degree areas, as well as humanities, socio-economic, natural, and general professional subjects. Our graduates fully master the skills, at least level B2 - knowledge of the language and the ability to communicate fluently."

Spiritual and Educational Work

The faculty holds festive celebrations on the occasion of the birthday of creative figures, statesmen, generals who left a bright mark in the history of the Uzbek people. Events are also held on the occasion of significant dates in the history of our Motherland. Students of the faculty actively participate in competitions on spiritual and educational expertise between universities, district, city, republican, international or higher educational institutions and occupy worthy places. In the annual university football competitions “Rector's Cup”, our teachers and students perform as part of the national faculties and show good results

The faculty has developed mechanisms to increase the coverage and effectiveness of the conducted spiritual and moral educational and educational activities on 5 initiatives. In accordance with it, in order to further improve the political and legal literacy of students, as well as the introduction of political and social processes taking place in our country into the consciousness of young people, a scientific and practical seminar “information and information technologies" is organized among students, organized jointly by the Dean's office and departments, with speeches by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, interviews with state figures of the republic and detailed information about various events taking place in foreign countries.

The faculty regularly organizes round tables with famous poets, writers, creative figures, statesmen, artists, athletes among the Uzbek people. Students visit historical monuments, monuments, cities, various museums and theaters, military units, orphanages, houses of mercy.
