On April 29, the Department of General Linguistics of the Faculty of English Philology No. 1 at Uzbekistan State World Languages University organized an international scientific-practical conference titled “Global Linguistics: New Approaches and Research”.

The event was broadcast online via the Zoom platform. The conference was opened by the Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov. In his opening speech, the Rector welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of international cooperation and new research in the field of linguistics.

The conference was attended by scholars and researchers from leading universities in Uzbekistan and abroad, including Indiana University, the University of Portsmouth, Saint Petersburg University, and other institutions.

The conference was held in five thematic sections:

• Current Issues in Educational Systems of Modern Linguistics

• Contemporary Problems of Linguistics and New Research Directions

• Theoretical and Applied Linguistics

• Modern Methods and Technologies in Language Learning and Teaching

• Methodology of Teaching Uzbek and Foreign Languages in the Digital Era: Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Linguistics
