Collaboration Prospects Discussed Between UzSWLU and Tokyong University (South Korea)

On September 8 at 10:20 AM, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University with Mr. Kim Won Sik, Head of the International Relations Department at Tokyong University, located in Daegu, Republic of Korea.

 

 

Mr. Kim was welcomed by UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Abdurakhim Nasirov, and Head of the International Cooperation Department Khusanboy Yuldashev.

Tokyong University offers educational programs in 30 fields of study and specialties. Currently, it hosts around 5,000 students, including 1,200 international students — 450 of whom are from Uzbekistan. Classes are conducted in Korean and English. The university also plans to establish a Korean Language Academy and preparatory courses.

During the discussion, Mr. Kim expressed readiness to offer tuition discounts ranging from 30% to 70% for UzSWLU students, depending on their Korean language proficiency. He also noted that the annual tuition fee is 4,000 USD.

The two sides discussed opportunities for student and faculty exchange, inviting Korean language instructors to UzSWLU, and expanding academic collaboration. Additionally, they exchanged views on providing grants through KOICA and implementing joint educational and research projects.
